"Gratuitous shirtlessness is the future of wine sales."
- Some lady in our tasting room
Also Important in Wine Sales: Deliciousness.
Good thing we have both! Our brand-spankin' new Cyclops II is officially available. We've been pouring it in the tasting room for about a week to rave reviews. And yes, the label depicts a shirtless Cyclops of Greek Mythology smashing away at raw electricity on the forge, but hey, he doesn't want to burn a hole in his new threads.
But seriously, the wine is delicious. Whereas Cyclops was predominately Syrah (80%), Cyclops II is equal parts Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache.
Wine Enthusiast liked it as well, awarding it a 93 score. This is what they had to say about Cyclops II:
"Cyclops II is an equal blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre from 2011, and Grenache from 2009. Complex and fragrant, it’s a perfect match of strengths. Strawberry, cherry and blue plum fruits are underscored with layers of earth, graphite and licorice. It’s already nicely balanced, and its nonvintage makeup may have helped push along the aging process. Drink now and over the next five years."
Very nice indeed. Pay us a visit at the Tasting Room or order it up online. We only made 147 cases, so it won't be around forever.
"8 is the Atomic Number for Oxygen."
— Chemistry teachers everywhere
It's also the number of seats left at our July 25th Winemaker's Dinner.
And you know what? You need both oxygen and food to survive. Both are necessary for physiological function. It's really this simple: Breath oxygen? You will enjoy our dinner. Also, the number 8.

2013 Late Harvest Riesling
That's right, I'm retiring the quote device for exactly one section. I hope you won't miss it too badly.
Our new 2013 Late Harvest Riesling is bottled up and out in the world. The new blend is 11% Gewürztraminer, slightly more than in year's past. We are really thrilled with it, and think you will be too. We're pouring it at the tasting room right now, and you will start to see it on shelves soon.
They grow up so fast!
"Running from an enraged wild turkey is likely as close as any of us will get to experiencing a Jurassic Park-style dinosaur attack."
— Me, after finding out that wild turkeys can run up to 25 mph
Coming to our Winemaker's Dinner? Attendees can buy any wine for 25% off.
There's my segue. I know, it was a bit of a stretch. The wild turkey thing was just to keep you glued to your computer screen so you'd read this part: come to our winemaker's dinner and you can buy any wine we make for 25% off.
This has been an unadvertised benefit of attending our dinners since they started last year. But I'm letting the cat out of the bag. Or is that the turkey out of the bag?
Just imagine this little terror sprinting at you at school-zone speeds. Yikes.
Also imagine stocking up your cellar with delicious Red Mountain juice for 25% off. Also, the number 25.

"I can't believe I'm still reading this far down the post."
— You, right now.
- Sunset Magazine liked our wine. We got two Best of Class awards in their 2014 Sunset International Wine Competition.
- We have two wines on special right now at the Tasting Room. You'll have to visit to see what they are and how much they are marked down, but I'll give you two numbers: 32% and 40%. Total tease, I know. But pay us a visit and we'll fill you in.
- Here are two more numbers: 8 and 25. There are 8 more spots left at our dinner, and guests can buy any wine they want for 25% off the night of the event. Full menu and more information here.
- More award news: Our 2013 Chenin Blanc was awarded "Best White Wine" at the 2014 NW Wine Summit.
